Solarium…I had never heard of that word before stepping into Harvard Hillel. What a funny room. What a funny jewel/sphere on top of that room. What exactly is that giant orb supposed to be? Everytime I look at it I think that a laser should be shooting out of it. It looks like a rejected prop from Mr. Freeze’s lair.
But I know why Hillel has a solarium: financial reasons. According to this website the addition of a sunroom pays off. WTF? A sunroom/solarium is a room that exists soley to allow sunlight in. The only way that pays off is if you have chloroplasts. Whatevers-maybe Hillel can contact these guys and figure out how to get solariums to pay off.
P.S. 33% of an investment in a swimming pool pays off? What does that mean. I need to spend less time googling. Just because someone is wrong on the internet…

It pays off the energy company. Lots of glass = extra heating bill in the winter, cooling bill in the summer.
What we should do is line the inside of Hillel with solar panels.
